Opera a Roma

A WATER NYMPH OPENS 2014-2015 ROME’S OPERA HOUSE

Rome’s Opera House (Teatro dell’Opera di Roma) begins its 2014-2015 season with the lyric fairy tale “Rusalka”, by Antonin Dvorak.
Love, sacrifice and betrayal are combined in this story, which was inspired to its Czech authors by elements of Slavic folk culture. It equally shares a few details with “The Little Mermaid” by Hans Christian Andersen and “Undine” by Friedrich de la Motte Fouqué: the performance brings to life the story of a water nymph who falls in love with a human prince.
On stage on 27th November 2014 at Teatro Costanzi at 7 pm, tickets starting from €23.
