DOWNTOWN
There is something for all tastes in Rome city center, from high fashion and department stores to tiny handicraft boutiques… you just need to know where to go.
If you are looking for shoes and clothes nearby the historical hot spots, via del Corso (the lane connecting piazza del Popolo to piazza Venezia) teems with options to suit all budgets. Take also a visit to Galleria Colonna (nearby the Parliament) and let yourself be enchanted by its elegant architecture. The adjoining road via del Tritone is a must if you are interested in leather bags and accessorizes.Piazza di Spagna and its neighboring lanes (such as via dei Condotti and via Frattina) are the core area for all the high fashion designers stores: Bulgari, Valentino, Vuitton, Burberry, Gucci, Dolce & Gabbana, Prada, only to name a few. Following via del Corso style, there is via Nazionale (the lane starting from piazza della Repubblica, at stroll distance from Termini station): the realm of casual clothes, underwear and shoes shops.
Moving to the Vatican area, make of via Cola di Rienzo your reference point if you are looking for an Italian style classical and fashionable attire, whereas the little shops standard of via Ottaviano is a good alternative to via del Corso and via Nazionale

NATURE, FOOD & FASHION DESIGN ALTOGETHER FOR A BRAND NEW EXHIBIT

NATURE, FOOD & FASHION DESIGN ALTOGETHER FOR A BRAND NEW EXHIBIT

Rome is celebrating in a new charming way the theme of nutrion, main subject at EXPO MILANO 2015, combined to one of the best known facets of Made in Italy, that is to say fashion design.
The brand new exhibit at the Trajan’s Market is focused indeed on the transposition of the link “nature & food” on embroidery, textures, dresses and accessories.
The Elegance of Food. Tales about Food & Fashion is therefore a journey through yesterday and today’s haute couture garments by means of photographs, holograms, video mapping and visual-art following the four basic elements: Water, Air, Earth and Fire.
The exhibit is open daily until November 1st, 2015, from 9.30 am to 7.30 pm.

WINTER SALES: HOW TO (BETTER) SHOP AFTER CHRISTMAS

WINTER SALES: HOW TO (BETTER) SHOP AFTER CHRISTMAS

For both fashion addicted and just “made in Italy” lovers, winter sales time is definitely the best to land nice items at good prices. They begun few days ago, being over on February 15, which provides shoppers with a six-week long chance to make their good deals. Beyond pointing at the big brands’ venues such as all the area from the Spanish Steps down to via del Corso, via Frattina and via dei Condotti, Italian and International more affordable brands will offer up to 50% discounts. Via Cola di Rienzo (next to the Vatican) as well as via Nazionale (between Termini station and Republic Square) are among the best options. But sales are not just about city center: in the outskirts of Rome at least a couple of outlets and shopping malls meet customers’ desires of Italian brands at good prices. We particularlu suggest Castel Romano’s Designer Outlet and the Valmontone Outlet, which are connected to Rome city center by a special shuttle service or regular buses.
