PUBLIC TRANSPORT
Rome’s public transport net consists of three underground lines (A, B and B1, C), buses, trams and urban trains.

TICKETS
The same type of ticket is used for all transports:
BIT: € 1,50 valid for 100 minutes from the very first validation. Please note: no more than one journey per metro line is allowed
ROMA 24H: € 7,00 valid for 24 hours from the first validation. Unlimited journeys within the territory of the Municipality of Rome
ROMA 48H: € 12,50 valid for 48 hours from the first validation. Unlimited journeys within the territory of the Municipality of Rome
ROMA 72H: € 18,00 valid for 72 hours from the first validation. Unlimited journeys within the territory of the Municipality of Rome
CIS: € 24,00 valid for 7 days from the first validation, that is to say until midnight of the seventh day counting from its validation. Unlimited journeys within the territory of the Municipality of Rome

Where to buy them
– vending machines at each metro station- any tobacco shops  (T – Tabaccaio)
– most of newspaper stands

WORKING HOURS
METRO LINE A, B , B1 and C
From  5.30 am last to  11.30 pm. Friday and Saturday: until  1.30 am

Buses and trams: from 5.30 am to 11 pm
Afterwards nearly 20 night buses operate on the same roots.

TAXI
Licensed and authorized taxis are white, provided with “TAXI” black and yellow sign on the top of the car. Both the licence and the rate table are displayed on the seat backrest. Beware of those which do not satisfy any of these conditions.
Fixed fares are set for journeys to/from airports, inclusive of all extra charges.
From Fiumicino Airport to within the Aurelian Walls and vice versa: € 48.00
From Ciampino Airport to within the Aurelian Walls and vice versa: € 30.00
Please note that Hotel Des Artistes is located within the Aurelian walls, therefore our guests benefit from these special fares.

ROMA PASS
A convenient option to travel around Rome and visit her museums at cheaper prices is by using the Roma Pass

3 DAYS ROMA PASS – 36.00 €

• Discounts and reduced price ticketing for all the other museums
• Metro, buses & trams: illimited use of any public transports within the territory of the Municipality of Rome.Valid 3 days

48 HOURS ROMA PASS – 28.00 €
• 1 museum: free entry to 1 museum and / or archaeological sites
• Discounts and reduced price ticketing for all the other museums included in the list, as well as for events, exhibitions and tourist services
• Metro, buses & trams: illimited use of any public transports within the territory of the Municipality of Rome.Valid 48 hours

Sunday May 24th will be a good day to explore Rome off the beaten track: in the frame of “Open Courtyards Rome” some of the most beautiful historical private palaces in the Eternal City will be open to public just for one day, disclosing their inner courtyards and gardens. The event is due to the Italian Association of Historical Houses (ADSI – Associazione Dimore Storiche Italiane) and it is free of cost for visitors, who will be guided through these architectural treasures also by the properties’ owners. Opening time will be from 10 am to 7 pm. Here below a list of the sites:
