MEDITERRANEUM: ROME OPENS A HIGH-TECH AQUARIUM

MEDITERRANEUM: ROME OPENS A HIGH-TECH AQUARIUM

Works for the brand new high-tech aquarium of Rome are almost over, and in June 2015 it will be officially open to public. The Eternal City’s aquarium will be a unique one of its kind, the biggest of the country and one of the main in Europe. The structure was planned in such a way that it won’t have any environmental impact though entirely built under the EUR lake. The 16000 square meters are divided in two sections: the traditional one will host living fishes, which visitors will admire from special acrylic tunnels to give the feeling of a true immersion into the deep. The other sector will be dedicated to scientific and educational purposes: here complementary areas such as a 400 seats auditorium, a space for 3D shows and tanks for highly sophisticated robot-fishes.
This colossal structure is named Mediterraneum – The Aquarium of Rome, and aims at raising visitors’ awareness on ecological issues starting from the observation of Nature’s complexity.
Yes Hotel is at walking distance from metro station Castro Pretorio (line B) to reach EUR quarter and its aquarium!

LUCIANO BENETTON’S IMAGE OF THE WORLD

LUCIANO BENETTON’S IMAGE OF THE WORLD

Part of Luciano Benetton’s art collection is currently on display in Rome. It’s actually much more than a simple collection: it’s a project, a vision, an image of the world, as its title “Imago Mundi” points out. The chief of one of the most successful Italian brands in the world is indeed very much involved in spreading and preserving the arts, and his ultimate intuition took precisely the shape of “Imago Mundi”. This project aims at showing to public thousands of works of art that Benetton either collected or commissioned to emerging artists during his life-time journeys. These works respond to two main characteristics: they are 10×12 cm in size, they are non-profit. The concept is to create a visual map of humanity, to favour a global meeting of culture in respect of their different expressive means. As an ultimate result, the artists involved will be supported by Benetton’s foundation in finding visibility. By 2015 the project will have reached 100 nations.

Biglietti: €13-€45.
